Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Netapp layoff rumors .. hock tan next acquisition target to combine with vmware?

Deep technology integrations and 20k shared customers.

Broadcom can dominate ai inferencing / enterprise AI with chips, networking (brocade), vmware and netapp storage + RAG?

Netapp 6.5b revs and 1.5B free cash flow that can go higher.

George Kurian has similar upbringing to Hock, a poor boy from India who worked his way to top of Silicon Valley. His twin brother Thomas is CEO of Google Cloud.

Keep wondering for eternity. Hastings saying only because you are wondering it’s not going to happen, as for his succession not his problem that’s the board’s problem.

The way he buys this is buy a company he thinks is run by losers and chuck the out.

On the side note, why not wonder if pigs could fly?

Broadcom should acquire Intel, fire Pat G and re-sell it to Michael Dell. Ezy money

Only one problem. Remember Broadcom wanted to buy Quellcom ??

These guys are A players and wonder if Hock is looking to acquire-hire his successor or at least a candidate.

NTAP stock is cheap relative to comps and even absolute basis (6.5B revs and 27-30% operating margins). Seems to fit Hock type of acquisition, a business that is #1 in its sector and durable earnings. Can see lots of synergy combining with VMWare but unfortunately lots of job cuts.

NTAP something to 👀 at for inquiring minds.

There needs to be succession plan for Hock after his employment agreement is up in 4 years when he'll be 75 years old

You don’t have to worry about his succession plan, you’re @$$ will be out of the door long before.

Just worry about maximizing your time here, so you can get as may of those existing RSUs as possible that are already awarded to you.

He is 72 or 73, according to Wikipedia, apparently not even he knows how old he is.

Anyway even the low end will put him at 76, 4 yrs from now.

Because George Kurian would potentially become head of VMWare if it happened?

Wishful thinking, have you known Tan to keep the execs of the company he acquired?? He acquires company that he thinks is run by losers who hat don’t know how to run a company.

So…….

Because George Kurian would potentially become head of VMWare if it happened? Hock Tan would go back to CEO role exclusively.
