Folks when can we expect hiring to resume in Europe?

Layoff are back in the SDE division, maybe there will be some opening in VCF. I don't expect any hiring before later next year...

Hiring and retention has only one goal. Cost reduction. Rotate to lower cost geos. Even within geos fire the recent hires that were hired during the pandemic bubble at very high costs. Rotate into lower cost people who are desperate now in the job market. I haven't seen such a charity before. Everyone thinks they are a GM with P&L but no one know what their P&L is. They only know what their costs are. The "GM" only get a cost target and they have to fire and hire accordingly. This charity has been like this in VMware for a very very long time. Nothing has changed. Only change is people used to hire like no tomorrow. Now they are firing like no tomorrow. No one know what the P&L is for each division. Hock is still running this like a charity.

Yes hiring. Fire the high cost recent hires and hire the desperate souls who are out of a job for years.

within vmware top management

Well it certainly seemed Raghu was rubber stamping everything
Just like :
Parag Agrawal - ex CEO of Twitter
Arvind Krishna - CEO of IBM
Pichai Sundararajan - CEO of Google
Satya Nadella - CEO of MS

Good engineers didn't like DEI, alphabet dribble, and marxist propaganda pushed on them? >>> It is not the point there. Who was pushing globalist agenda in vmware. It is definitely not M. Dell (since he follows strict family values). Then who else was working hand and gloves within vmware top management (may be even receiving kick backs) with likes of Soros ?

I don't expect hiring at all, probably some critical backfills next year. On the other hand firing will continue and in 5 years probably very few VMware folks will remain. If you are a manager start preparing and try to change for something better.

Deleting posts again I see, what don't like the truth that many good engineers didn't like DEI, alphabet dribble, and marxist propaganda pushed on them? Or having to work with people who were hired not for their qualifications etc so were essentially forced out ?

No more hiring mate. Only layoffs will continue. If you are a manager, start doing technical tasks from now. Enough of bloated teams that doomed vmware spectacularly with DEI sh*t. Need to increase stock price to $200.
