The layoff should not be a surprise to anyone. In Nov (2023), RG stated that there will be a mid-year "adjustment" if there numbers did not look good. They are worried about the end of year bonuses.
How well is the BU doing in comparison to the other BUs? I think its on HT's coffee talk chart.
Hate this company, so happy I am out! F all clowns here who enjoy it
What is the severance package? 2 months warn and?
After the Symantec acquisition, we experienced the same, a decrease in engineers but an increase in workload, with no salary raises and limited promotions for technical staff. Meanwhile, those in non-technical roles saw more frequent promotions. I only have the seven-letter A or F word for the Symantec management.
Given these conditions, it may be prudent to explore new opportunities while the stock value remains high and you have a strong compensation package to leverage in negotiations.
I think it all happened on the 25th. I was notified by Zoom and I thought it was a joke but it sank in quickly. I know quite a few NAM DSEs who were laid off all on the same day.
I feel bad for those who are staying. Their workload has quadrupled. But it all comes down to money. And the budget is being squeezed hard.
All in all Broadcom destroyed Symantec in terms of customer adoption. The A-list keeps shrinking and Hock is so disillusioned about what made them stay in the first place.
Folks is there a way to delay the exit process so that I can get more stocks? Has anyone made any progress on that, what if I don't sign the separation agreement?
I just got my notification via meeting. I’ve been with the company for many years. It’s been a good ride but my calling is finally here. Another friend/colleague also got cut.
It’s hard work. Many hours. But I didn’t complain about the pay and experience. Going to miss a lot of folks with awesome talent.
It su-ks being let go —but business be businessing.
I can’t say the experience I’ve had with HR yet because that process starts in a couple of days.
Good luck to all who stays!
I got laid off yesterday from the research division in security tech and response department. We get 60 days because of the California WARN act, which lets you know it’s a bigger RIF.
I saw another Broadcom Technical Account Manager (TAM) post on LinkedIn that he was laid off from the Symantec BU. How big is the RIF?
Carbon Black moved under the Symantec BU earlier this year. It was hit with another cut.
NAM DSE support gutted.
Ok. What's the deal?
Can you provide more details about the new round of layoffs?
