I understand many of us are scared of losing a job with the current job mkt, financial obligations and cost of living. But I’ve been so unhappy with working here for a long time now, that I’m secretly hoping I will be let go at the first next opportunity. I’m also fully aware that most other corporate jobs are as bad and toxic, but maybe a change in scenery would benefit me. I don’t see any career path in CVS, and I haven’t had a raise worth mentioning in two years. I really don’t know if being fed up with CVS is clouding my judgment, or if a change of workplace would objectively be good for me with all the risks that come with it.

Laid off in October. While I miss some of my coworkers, I don't miss the mental abuse. I don't miss someone else given credit for the work I did. I don't miss the back stabbing by Directors. I kept hoping fairn3ss would happen. It didn't.
Get your resume together. Up skill. Practice interviews. 6 to nine months to land something is average.
@vvi it’s not only draining a lot of times if you’re the scapegoat everyone wants a piece of you until you leave on your own… the micromanaging plus people trying to control you it’s like bullying and as soon as you call HR you put a target on your back
Last year we received a minimum number of weeks (I think like 8) and then additional weeks pay based on years of service and pay grade.
I have been applying to jobs since April
I think you only get 1 week per year of service. I have been with the company 18 years so not a lot of time to find something and to think that is what we are worth only 1 week for every year and that’s if they offer anything at all. I am praying and hoping I don’t get cut,
It is a common thought right now. It's either hoping for a lay off to do them a justice to no longer have to work for CVS or it's searching while still being employed to get the heck out of there.
no one will leave, as job is remote , ok and work as usual.
if really something goes south, take the severance and find something.
That should be a lot of money as I worked 6 years. atleast 60 grand,
every one is doing the same, this site is useless
As far as I can tell, it looked about the same as it does now. All you have to do is go to Colleague Zone and search by key word “severance”. The policy is pretty easy to find from there.
What did the severance packages look like during the last layoff?
It is true finding a job is easier while having one, if I survive the layoff I'm looking. To the dope asking why we wouldn't just quit, severance package and the ability to collect unemployment so that finding a job isn't any more overwhelming than it is and we don't have to completely exhaust savings. In my current circumstance I would voluntarily give up my job for a severance package even if it leads to more hardship later because this place is a dead end that no longer has any cushiness when you're working 70 hour weeks and they're laying off thousands a year.
People are looking and once find something will be gone. CVS will get their wish. dDon't be shocked if a mass exodus happens at once and then will have to scramble to hire
The best time to find a job is when you have one
Why don’t you leave then?
I was laid off last August and it took some time to find something comparable, but I’m much happier now. That place is so mentally draining and toxic anymore, I don’t blame you for wanting to leave. And yes, the market is tough, so be prepared for that.
Best of luck to you!
