Thread regarding Optum layoffs

New Employment

Has anyone had luck with finding new employment after layoffs and before layoffs? If so can give tips as to what you did to get their attention or even the company you’re at now, maybe they have some other open positions!

Interestingly I was not allowed to hire people layed off for open jobs as senior leaders feared negative behavior from previously layed off people it was so upsetting.

I would say always look at other opportunities I has a back up plan and made a seamless move

Original responder must work for the company! Sorry but that is such a BS excuse when they are continuously making more money each year and CEO's and senior leadership are making millions in bonuses every year.

The job boards are filled with positions. Take this time to enhance your skills and make yourself more marketable. There are multiple free certificate courses out there that can give you some added skills. Stop looking at healthcare; there are lots of other options out there. All healthcare companies are facing struggles due to changes in CMS payments. Go to another healthcare company; the same story, different face, although the only saving grace is they are not all run as poorly as UHC and Optum.

No. We've been placed on "do not rehire" lists "for security purposes." That's an indelible red mark you can't easily explain away. I'd omit them entirely if it didn't leave an eight-year hole in my work history.
