Omnissa Live: Customer & Partner Comments

Too much vision, and not enough substance in product investment plans. How can Omnissa recover from this disappointing first event? We need answers, not fluff.

"The Register has sought interviews with Omnissa to go deeper on its plans, but was told the biz isn't quite ready to explain itself in greater detail. We'll keep asking, in hope of getting more than the sweeping statements of intent delivered at this virtual event."

The premature announcement of an "autonomous workspace" was a huge blunder.

First fix back office order booking workflows during Quarter end that goes now with week long manual intervention in war rooms. Then you may be eligible to talk about AI bluff.

Yes, this event reminded us of our internal All Hands meetings. Pointless chatter.

The big difference was the scripted and mindless delivery of nonsensical claims of our EUC product superiority. A total disconnect from the competitive reality that we face in our customer interactions. So, this event performance didn't help, it actually made things worse. It's a disaster for us in the front line trying to close our SaaS renewal deals.

“They talked for 20 minutes about AI . Are Omnissa and its EUC products really AI driven?”

Sadly not, there is no AI.

AirWatch is .Net and MS SQL

Horizon is just LDAP.

The rest is vapourware.

Sad but true, never properly been refactored.

Old wine in a shiny new bottle. Omnissa will be doomed in next few months. Let the layoffs continue.

When a leader presents a scripted and rehearsed vision statement that lacks meaningful details and credibility from the audience's perspective, several things will happen:

It risks undermining trust, engagement, and alignment within the organization and among outside stakeholders. Effective vision statements resonate because they are authentic, specific, and demonstrate a deep understanding of the challenges and aspirations of those they aim to serve (e.g. investors, partners, and customers).

I believe Shankar and other speakers failed on all counts. We must get new leaders.

“EUC is a leader within large, high growth categories and demand for the business’s marquee offerings continues to grow as the workplace and the needs at the front-line evolve rapidly,” said John Park, Partner at KKR. “We are excited to deploy our experience and toolkit at KKR to back a 'world-class' company in its next chapter as a standalone business, with accelerated investment and a continued focus on product and customer-centricity.”

This initial KKR press release raised expectations of investment in growth. Yesterday's performance by Shankar and his leaders was not world-class. It was very amateurish.

“Help us advocate for the customers making this transition to the Al era, fighting against entropy, building autonomous workspaces, redefining workspace experiences, and changing how work gets done.”

Renu Upadhyay, SVP of Marketing

Total word salad, “where can I buy some”, said no customers.

A ca crash courtesy of a CMO over her skis. The AI talk was beyond vapourware. Embarrassing.

I hope that someone from KKR attended the event. Now perhaps they'll appreciate why we, as employees, believe the need for new leadership is essential. This can't continue.

It seems like Shankar rushed to put this event out to counter concerns about Omnissa employee headcount cuts, and partner fear of new price increases. A clueless reaction.

What were they thinking? Shankar said this event would be a 'big reveal' of Omnissa investment plans. I kept waiting for something specific to hold on to as an indication of progress.

I don't know how we can recover from this missed opportunity. Now deeply concerned

Disappointing, nothing substantial and specific. There is not real content.
