For the long timers and high earners, it's not what you know but how you b!0w that keeps you around. Otherwise, Halliworld doesn't value knowledge. It is a house of bean counters at the top, finding ways to cook the books. For the young contractors thinking they will get hired on as permanent employees, good luck with that pipe dream. The goal here now is to hire contractors extend their contracts indefinitely and let them go when things turn south. That is one of the cookbook recipes bean counters got memorized in their heads. Maximize profits minimize costs. Not doing more drilling so the only thing left is reduce cost by reducing permanent employees, the higher you get paid the quicker you out the door.

Well after 40 more years of HAL treating people that work in Duncan terribly maybe attitudes have shifted. Low paying jobs, little overtime, no job security...what do the workers have to lose? If HAL left Duncan more companies could come in like Family Dollar and at least offer steady employment.

Getting rid of a few of those specialty positions created for the “yes” guys that don’t really contribute to production and output would save a few jobs.
