At this I’m ready and willing to let the lazy turds get in on this cuz if this happens we can all hit the cruise control button and let the roller coaster of Optum do its things while our jobs/pay/pto and more benefits generally stabilize or trend upwards.

From day 1...and it's possible to have EVERY dept in it, as there is strength in numbers. Making it just nurse's and doctors keeps the company moving, as they cam bring others in. But when you take down the entire company, then you have some bargaining power. Trouble is, I don't know how this will work for the offshore people...can they be included in the union? Or are we trading the chance of a union for more jobs going overseas?

I am guessing it would be possible for nurses and other healthcare workers. Unfortunately for those of us working in Tech it would never happen

too many elitist sissies here to unionize. I just want free healthcare, my cell phone/service paid for, profit sharing and tenure.

For twenty years, yes. Unfortunately, unions = "soshulizm" to far too many of us. There's also a large contingent of "I got mine, so FU" people in our wheelhouse. Attempts to unionize invariable fail due to infighting.

Anyone getting the feeling that what you do for the company is just not important? Yet you keep coming back day after day, complaining, posting, sweating, worring, boozing. We all want to feel like we’re relevant and important. How does executive management help you help them? By dividing, setting you up to fail, diminishing your scope, on and on. Wear your minimum amount of flair and just take it easy. You are not, nor ever will be all that. Be well.
