What date is D day in the US? When should the invites arrive, Im presuming it won't be over the weekend a d it's usually Wednesday is the day people get laid off, right ? Would that mean it's august 7th ?!

The meeting invite will be from your manager, but won’t necessarily have HR on it when you look to try to throw you off the scent. Then when you join the call, you will see a 3rd person. They will read an impersonal script saying that you are being let go and ask if you have any questions.
I strongly suggest you limit your questions to logistics regarding your exit, benefits, etc. Don’t try to ask any “gotcha” questions, or argue. Don’t show anger or negative emotion. The decision has been made and it’s not going to be reversed. You going to aggravate yourself and they don’t give two sh--s.
If you are on here looking for details because you think there is a chance you would be let go you should be working on your resume this week if it’s not already done.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: If you are in sales, copy all your important data off your laptop this week. Today, preferably. They claim that they are monitoring your activity after they notify you and that you will negate your severance if you copy data. I don’t know if they are monitoring beforehand.
Managers have been notified by HR. Employee Notifications are Monday, 5 August. Last day Friday, 9 August. Look for those meeting invites for next Monday. May the odds ever be in your favor!
Last year, I know people who on Sunday got invites from their manager for Monday morning meeting and copied on the invite was a person from HR. That’s when the ball dropped early Monday morning and their last day was Friday. They were Presales.

Will it be big on august 5th ? Last time they let 5% go in February 2023 they sent an email before it. If it's going to be 5% or above again then surely an email ?
