I know 5 people who I used to work with (in corporate) who have been silently let go in the last three months. Usually they are given several weeks notice. And no one ever talks about it (or at least I don’t hear about it). Has anyone else experienced the same thing?

I cannot wait to leave this company. Leadership is so awful and inept that it's affecting my health.
The key part is as they are leaving they are not replaced.

There will always be turnover. Do you expect the same staff until they die?
Yes, a couple program SMEs were quietly laid off go about a month ago. No warning or transition plan. Internal contacts weren’t informed until we started receiving bounce-back emails. And no one who remains has their SME level of knowledge, so we’ve been scrambling to find answers and resolve issues now.
do they get severance or just terminated?
