So many people with the most experience were once again let go without anybody stopping to consider how that'll affect the company in the long run. That should pretty much tell you all you need to know about current leadership and what their priorities are.

"this time" ??? my team has been hit with FOUR rounds of layoffs since October. which time are you referring to? or is it just "modern times"? 'cause offshoring to save money isn't new.

Yeah they want obedience not critical thinking
They let go of the CIO of our division about a year ago.
We (rest of the team who do the actual work) are still reeling from it.
And don’t get me started on no hiring on-shore employees (even though there is budget that needs to be spent) !

I'm in a meeting right now where regional directors are rationalizing that Optum did not go far enough with RIF on July 18th. So your sentiments are misplaced.
They are already talking about this being a "2-year journey" which was similarly said in August of 2023, when the California market saw a 20% RIF. The Calfornia market right now is shook, and if the California market has a certain level of uncertainty since August 2023, all other markets are just at risk and just as "stable".
Who was RIF'ed outside of Landmark?
Since 2019 there has been a concerted effort to get rid of those with the most experience. Of course they're older and make more money and have built the company. No loyalty from senior leadership.

Let the company fall on its own sword at this point and get out while you can or ride the train to the very last stop. Optum will exploit you, so why not exploit them right back.
Bar is being lowered across the entire industry. Industry is making sure the only way to raise it is with AI. Imagine if current leadership could mold an employee to do exactly what they want …
