Advice: Go to the private sector. Many private companies are well-funded, with good salaries, full benefits, no overtime, sweet 401(k) plans, etc.
Indeed, some private companies (high tech, low tech, etc.) can lay off 5,000 or 10,000 employees and the employees don't worry, they just find a new job.
