I've heard they will reduce Sofia workforce to 500? Is this true?! Seems like abnormal to me, we were like 1800 a year ago? Hope they layoff managers mostly

150 is the next wave in Bulgaria. Mostly junior folks will be axed, 15% senior/staff1. Keep in mind management cut will be the next wave after this one
Someone with the same style of writing opens here topics against the Sofia office every 1-2 weeks. Come on, dude, I don't know who here offended you so much, but the life continues. When you feel hate or pain, do some gardening or physical work, it helps.
I know Bulgaria package is like 8+ salaries, someone from this location can confirm. US is overall worse.
Stay strong folks, no one is safe next 2-3 years.
What's the kick out package in USA and other countries
This is the way!
I am from the Sofia office and to be honest I don't even feel offended by the comments here as they are actually true (Although I can claim I know few exceptional engineers, but not managers). It is actually even worse, I know managers who fired decent employees just to get referral bonuses by hiring externally, hope those sc-mbags get fu**ed by Broadcom, I am sure they won't be able to find even internships nowadays.
Pat G started ruining spree of vmware by opening office in Sofia.
Then Magoo continued, claiming VMware’s goal was to have 45K employees , ya know like the way CEOs also like to compare the size of their dïcks or to challenge each other to MMA hug fests.
That office is like a teenage disco - fire everyone ASAP.
All of VMware is next…

Pat G started ruining spree of vmware by opening office in Sofia. Close that office asap. Sofia has average engineers , not exceptional. Only advantage is they speak English.
Bulgaria is cheaper to keep on the payroll. So no hurry. They will be dealt with later. Need to deal with higher cost geos first. The transition cost budget is limited per quarter.
Yeah Bulgaria seems like a big waste of money for Hock, with very low skill set
VMware Bulgaria better just close down imo, it is a managers empire running as a charity.
I truly hope this is true! My manager is coasting, his manager is also coasting and their wives who were hired as managers can't even qualify as interns in tier 6 firms! Good riddance VMware'
