Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Is anyone actually staying with Omnissa?

Omnissa is doomed, outdated technology with poor leadership. If the transition to the new systems is any indication of how this company will run this will be a nightmare. Customers are leaving and so are employees. A lot of employees are just waiting for transition and retention plans to pay out to find a new job why would anyone stay on this sinking ship?

"There no layoffs in Omnissa, troll."

In time there will be many changes as KKR discovers all the EUC financial challenges. Shankar can't hide the balance sheet reality from their MBA bean counters.

Well, AVGO valued us a LOT more than we could dream of under VMW. We can get our mortgage paid much sooner and then retire.

Broadcom doesn’t value EUC lol

Even if they could let you know, they would delay and let the 1 person in HR get to it at their leisure.

PE firms don’t treat people with any respect. Just get used to it or leave.

Email from Broadcom telling us what’s goin on? Hahahahha … email from Omnissa telling us what’s going on? No.

Broadcom is preventing any written communication about the deal until it is closed. It's just Broadcom being a--holes as usual. Omnissa doesn't technically exist yet, and all of the leadership is subject to information embargoes by Hock's team.

Feels like the Broadcom acquisition all over again. Email from fidelity tells us our 401k is ending the end of this month. Letter from insurance saying that our insurance is ending this month. Email from Broadcom telling us what’s goin on? Hahahahha … email from Omnissa telling us what’s going on? No.

Doesn’t give you the warm-and-fuzzies.

I guess I don’t remember anyone using the word “transparency” with the spinoff so what else should we be expect?

Hocknissa means no severance! Start working on your plan B.

You spelt that wrong, it’s Omnissa. You’re just jealous that we were able to get rid of Michael Dell and Hock Tan and that we work for a company where we enjoy the job.

"A lot of employees are just waiting for transition and retention plans to pay out to find a new job why would anyone stay on this sinking ship?"

Why? In a word, fear. Notice how fearful employees can attack anyone who thinks that KKR has acquired a business unit with obsolete technology and consistently poor leaders.

The meek won't inherit the earth. They're at a legacy software company until terminated. Anyone with some self-respect is already planning their departure. I'm eager to leave.

My outlook on Omnissa is super positive. It's the only place where VMware culture still lives. The products are excellent, actually.

VMware is Dead
Long live Omnissa.

I left VMW EUC in April 2023, after 19 years at VMW, not wanting any part of the upcoming Broadcom acquisition. I know an ex-VMW EUC seller who left VMW EUC in 2019 and is now coming back to Broadcom/Omnissa EUC this month! I am astounded at his decision to return as an IC.

“If the transition to the new systems is any indication of how this company will run this will be a nightmare”.

These new systems are being paid for by Broadcom. When you sell your house, do install a new premium quality kitchen or an idea special that will look for long enough for the sale to go through? That is what is happening here. Broadcom is cheep.
