I’ve been with ADP for a while, and the latest layoffs made me start considering other jobs. I don’t want to find myself with too few opportunities after spending too long here.

Focus on what your value is, not what you learned at adp but from adp. They're a container. Everything you do there is theirs, but what you learn from them is YOURS.
Heh. I sound like confucious 🤣👍
I think that depends on what you want to do when you leave. If you want to keep doing the same thing, then maybe look into competitors otherwise the world is your oyster. Do what you love. Best of luck.
McDonalds?
I’ve been looking anywhere and everywhere but have not had success. I think the role that I have been in for most of my 20+ years might not translate well to other companies, but I will keep trying. Its getting harder and harder to see peoples careers blossoming because they are in one adp locations and those of us that arent are treading water.
