Dave Calhoun’s stewardship of Boeing as its CEO has been catastrophic.
As he prepares to go, comforted by a $45 million retirement package,
Boeing could soon face something virtually unthinkable for such a legendary
company—criminal charges.
As first reported by Reuters, federal prosecutors have decided to recommend
that the Justice Department prosecute Boeing for violating the terms of a deal
made in 2021 in which a charge of committing fraud related to two crashes involving the 737 MAX that k¡lled 346 people was “deferred”
—as long as Boeing kept a pledge to seriously overhaul its compliance with
safety regulations.
The prosecutors say that the pledge has not been kept.
No CEO wants to take the job because the spotlight is on the aviation as a whole. All CEOs in companies fudge numbers and hide many other things. For anyone to take this job they would be forced to be honest with the employees and society as a whole. Only the big JC could handle this one. Pray hard!!

At this point there is no indication when US aviation authorities are going to give the green light to conversion programmers to turn 777s into cargo aircraft.
The string of revelations and problems around the aircraft maker’s safety record suggests the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) has its hands full, which could affect the certification process for 777 conversions.
