Judging from all the info available, news and rumors, we are talking high numbers. Anyone know when they will begin? It really feels like we all are on the sinking ship.

again? how do you know this? "trust me bro" is not a valid source, btw
Found the guy not in IT 👀
If you've already been re-orged under a European manager you're safe
@7ytp+1t7Frppx no cuts to SAP team is what I heard. I don't know about all of IT.
Whatever goofball said ‘a good time to be in IT’ doesn’t know much. There have been near-constant cuts, employee to contractor conversions, and no backfill orders when anyone is smart enough to leave. So IT has been a constant as it pertains to cuts/job loss/employee-to-psp conversions.
I am CERTAIN there will be more of this in the next week, and definitely in the next 6 months.
I just heard from someone in SWX group, they are getting rid a lot of contractors. It takes effect July 1, 2024.
It's a good time to be in IT : )
@Su-ks_to_be_at_stellantis is this your first job? What happened in March? 400 people were laid off. This sort of thing happens all the time in large companies, it's nothing new. GM laid off 14,000 people back in 2019 and they are an "American company". People are blowing this whole thing WAY out of proportions. Yes it su-ks... yes it's unfortunate... but you'd thing this was Armageddon the way people are reacting...
At my level I see lots going on in the company including other regions.
I don’t get all the hate. Do you really think the company is better than all I’ve said considering what happened in March?
I’m just trying to give people a heads up so everyone can be prepared.
That's how I feel too. The work environment is too toxic especially with how shameless their handling of the previous lay off went. It's always on the back of my mind ever since. And with the news from the CEO not even hiding they want to gut CTC office, why even bother? It's why I have been looking for work since March and it's possible I will find something soon after interviewing with several companies. In fact, the severance might work in my favor if I find work just after they lay me off.
I would assume I’d find a job within the warn notice time frame so it would be like getting a 25% salary bonus
I heard too about the 1200 on Friday/before break talk. But the "only North America, it's just the beginning, gOoD lUcK" stuff is just flat out BS... They are not phasing out just Americans. It's an American/European car company. They pull out of America, what was the point of the merger... use your heads people...

So if you work in "HR" then what's the date for the bombshell? At this point, your credibility is nothing but smoke and mirrors. Either provide credible "info" rather than fear mongering or otherwise respectfully GTFO
I'm also hoping to be let go. To be honest all this talk of layoffs has got me completely disengaged and unmotivated to complete my work. I'm ready to move on and get the he-l out of Detroit and leave the auto industry behind.
@ Su-ks_to_be_at_stellantis
If you work in HR then which group? SWX? If so, care to comment about GADP NA employees? That is you work in "HR" and not some "trust me, bro" source info
@6byz+1t7Frppx it would actually be 60 days, plus then the 3 months. So we're talking until the end of the year to find another job. But it's going to be flooded with competition too...
I’m in dm purchasing and honestly I hope I get laid off especially if we can expect 3 months of pay. I can find a job in that time period with my variety of experience plus I just finished my master’s degree. We are already short staffed and overwhelmed/overworked and I don’t agree with the direction of the company. I would rather work somewhere else.
One person in one area of HR does not know the entire scope of every departments layoffs...
I can’t say much but all my information I’ve been posting is direct information. This is because I work in HR and have seen all the details of what’s coming.
I am just trying to get the information out in a way to give people a heads up and not get myself fired.
I would also like to say one thing:
On the night of March 21st, a comment on this site mentioned how the layoffs were to be conducted on 3/22. Three types of meetings, different times meant if you were let go etc, etc. That comment was nearly spot on.
I am not saying one comment is more right than an other, but I think the answer of what will happen is more likely to appear on this site than reddit or other sites.
Welp...me thinks we will know who is right by 7/4
Pay raises in August and the fall? Really? Hasn't anyone seen all the recall notices dealing with the back camera and other issues? We have dealer lots full of Pickup and Jeeps. Toyota and Honda only have a 30-day supplier of vehicles at dealers. Stantis has 200+ days of popular vehicles like Ram 1500 and Jeeps. The Dodge Hornet has an average 350+ days on lots. How or why would anyone get a pay raise? It's like music chairs the past 5 months with executives leaving the company. The works are completely lost on what the plan is.
I also heard about raises in the fall. Why would they plan to lay off and then also give raises? I’m confused.
This is correct, salary reviews and CoLA for NA August September timeframe for some groups I have heard, unless mgmt is lying which is possible to keep people engaged
“This guy is full of it” - I will accept your apology in the next 2-3 weeks. No worries. Also…. Not a guy :-)
“I know for a fact NA employees are getting raises” - fact huh? Last several years the raises happen in July and managers provide the guidance to HR in May-June. That has NOT happened this year. No salary revisions this year. So anyone who’s counting on them… is misguided. Did you provide any numbers to your HR rep for your direct reports this year? I think not. That’s the point. Ain’t happening. So much for “fact”
“SWX is not impacted” - Actually biggest impact is SWX! Their names were ready in May.
60-day notices can be by email too, doesn’t need to be certified letters.
Town hall meetings - need to happen in Q2 because it’s on their goals. So….
SWX is not impacted as far as i heard. I don’t get why you mention statements with such confident as if its you who’s deciding who’s impacted.
The writing has been on the wall since the take over. This is no longer an American Company and the customers and employees should treat it as such. No one is safe. They fired people who created major company systems. You think anyone cares if you are in engineering, purchasing, blah blah. Everyone is replaceable at the end of the day. Do yourself a favor, if you work here, update your resume and get out of dodge. No pun intended.
This guy is full of it. Based on some IT projects I know for a fact NA employees are getting raises and COLA in the fall.
I flew to Europe in economy in 2016 with FCA so that is nothing new. Where did you get this 1200 from? Not saying I don't believe you, but the timing seems strange with engineering having a CTC town hall last week and then purchasing being next week. When layoffs happened in March the town hall was initially before the layoffs and then was afterwards rescheduled to happen afterwards. Mark Champine also specifically said last week that he saw the ClickOnDetroit article and while there would probably be more, he said not as soon as July. Then again could be all bullsh-t since we basically cant trust anything that comes out of their mouths.
Fear mongering. Someone lost their job and wants everyone else to be scared.
1200 is what I said. So you’re correct, “just liaisons in U.S.” is not going to be the status in September, but that’s the end goal. BCC is euphemism for LCC. Look at Tavares’ MO at PSA and Opel. Read. Do research. Then you can decide if this is fear monger stuff or if this is a harbinger of something else. Don’t be in denial.
Tavares is obsessed with cost control. All Stellantis people travel in economy class (except SVP and EVP and above). I have traveled to Europe in 2024 in ECONOMY class! My Director was in the seat next to me. I saw suppliers in Business class but we were the last seat in coach. GM people wouldn’t be caught dead in economy class for intercontinental flights. Read French articles from last decade. See how Tavares turned around Opel to make profits when GM couldn’t. Cost control.
Like I said, do research, understand the man, understand the MO.
The sad thing is that it's already happened to several managers I know at the company. One of them manage a whole team from India with no local individual contributors and it's driving him insane. The time zone issue is one thing, but the work quality is really bad. So he goes back and fixes all their work. And this has been going on for 6 months already. I assume leadership thinks this is success and want more of it to happen.
A ton of fear mongering misinformation in here... they are not gutting all US operations like people are saying. I don't know why certain posts in here are intentionally trying to scare people... "only program managers will be kept"...
@Su-ks_to_be_at_stellantis | @5irk+1t7Frppx
How does the 60 day layoff notice work? They send you a letter via certified mail, you get told your services are no longer required, they cut off your access to internal systems except the hub and email, and they keep paying you for 60 days? Then you get the severance as a lump sum after that?
What parts of purchasing are getting layoffs?
Assume that no one is safe. Just because SWX and Engineering suffered from lay offs, it does not mean they will not be impacted.
ALL departments are being targeted. It’s on a percentage basis. All departments and functions will contribute towards the final number - some higher % and some lower %. SWX is most vulnerable because they opened a new SW center in southern India (I don’t remember the city name) and most of the SWX will be done in India. Finance will go to Morocco and Poland (if you notice all the PO and Reqs are being done more and more from Morocco). Quality to Mexico. Marketing to Brazil. It’s going to be a wild ride. Basically U.S. will only have a bunch of program managers and liaisons- they will just coordinate the work from the LCC (low cost centers) offices.

TY for the heads up and warning. Any additional detail, specifically for the data org in SWX, any impact? Or should any 1 in SWX, regardless what org, be sh-----g bricks at this point? If we survived the 1st onslaught back in 3/22, that means we are still fair game at this point?
Etc= et cetera.
Does anyone know if there's truth to the rumor that if your group was hit in March it's safe from this round?
What is "etc?"
