Charter Communications to lay off 230 Austin-based call center employees

According to a company spokesperson, the layoffs are coming as the Austin call center will soon be closed.

The spokesperson clarified that the company wants to "retain as much talent as possible," and that affected employees will have the option to work elsewhere within the cable and internet company, which has three other offices in Texas, located in Irving, San Antonio and McAllen.

This video says that 1000s of customer service employees were affected. Unclear if it's from multiple states or not. I am not sure if just finding those that are not affected another job would be that easy. First, if the center closes down all together, then the employees would have to relocate to another state most likely. Secondly, I seen other reviewers on indeed mention that once you are in Customer Service that companies like to keep you within that division.
