Recruiter reached out to me for an interview. What’s the situation at citi? Is it an okay time to join, or wait until the reorg ends to entertain the idea of interviewing

I like how Citi try to sell you that they are providing the following perks such as:
Giving you vacation and sick time as a perk.
Now that you have vacation and sick time, allowing you to take it off as a perk.
Free parking.
Free coffee.
If you join, get your money up front. Don’t depend on a big yearly bonus payout. Citi is by far the cheapest top fortune 500 company there is. You can do really great all year long and be ranked high and get just 2K only as a bonus and 2% raise. If you are making the company money its higher but YOU have to be making the company money, not belong to a team that does or a supporting group that does. If YOU as an individual make Citi money, then you’ll get more. If not, then here’s your 2K and 2%.
So, all in all, get your money up front. Don’t buy into the sales pitch of “here’s your ‘x’ amount but don’t worry your bonus per year will make up the difference”.
I’ll say it again, Citi is by far the cheapest company out there on salary, bonus and raises.
i’m not sure that there is any job out there where you are going to get a lifetime guarantee of employment. That said, it’s going to be quite an unstable place to work for at least the next six months. Officially, the reorg goes on until the end of 2026. That said, it completely depends on how good of an offer they are making to you. how big of a salary increase? Is there a guaranteed bonus? How big of a title increase? Do you like your current job or do you hate it?
If you enjoy mismanagement, micro management, doing the work of 5 people, unrealistic deadlines, politics, a tanking stock, threat of layoffs, poor morale, required to be in an office, ambiguity, 12 hour days, no internal mobility, being motivated by fear and looking to stall and tarnish your career, well then Citi is the place for you!
No, look for somewhere else. Why are you taking risk on something that you don’t fully understand?
Truthfully, any career in banking is not durable wherever you land. It's not just Citi. I was hired at a competitor before coming here and only lasted a year after being cut.
Wait until end of 2026 and get a job elsewhere unless you have nothing else and can't afford to not have a job.
Some People were hired Q3 last year were displaced in Q1.
The situation is: they love not promoting from within, hence the reason you got a phone call.
This depends on many factors, region you are located and are applying, business line, roles and responsibilities and many more to name. But sticking to previous comments here, yes, just look at it as a temporary job to make money and maybe not a place to build a career. Just hope for the best and always remain positive, no matter what going in your life @OP+1t5j53VX . Do whats best for you.
Wow , do you know where/which team/domain are they looking for recruiting? Anyone here know? It's look like my team (in re'org they made 7 layers management to 8 layers
If you're looking for something temporary like a contract, sure. Building a career, think twice. This isn't over yet.
