Our store has no air conditioning. Customers are complaining but it seems to fall on deaf ears. We had a visit by the new facilities regional who said he was making sure it would be resolved. Its going to be 90 plus for a 10 day stretch its going to be bad for us and our customers.

Don't waste your time calling OSHA they can only recommend a temperature and can not help you.
If issues aren’t fixed, that means your store is closing soon.
CALL OSHA OR GET OUT THE FANS. That is a HEALTH ISSUE. Next thing you know the employees will be wearing shorts and sleeveless tops. Yes welcome to retail! Maybe the customers will call OSHA.
sounds like my store in florida
Having an a/c that doesn’t work has nothing to do with retail. It’s a Macy’s problem. People like you(calling people crybaby) is why things don’t change just conforming to the ill treatment of workers.
Our store is unbearably hot virtually every day of the week all year long - we have even had customers pass out while waiting on short lines. I know this will sound counterintuitive, but pray for a "visit" from higher-ups. Somehow, miraculously, the AC always works great when they come to our store.
No A/C during a declared heat adversory should be an OSHA issue. Document the temps and open up an HR case.
One the reasons that we are closing 150 stores is because so many of our buildings are aged and have HVAC systems, roofs, and alarms that require complete overhauls or replacements to remain viable. We have been deferring needed maintenance at these locations for so long while also reducing our facilities headcount that the cost of fixing them is now more than the businesses at these stores is worth.
I suggest talking to the other colleagues and bringing your complaint to the Store Manager. If enough people in the store complain, the company will pay to rent or purchase portable AC units that can be vented into the ceiling to at least help cool down the areas near the register. You might want to mention that you are aware that the next Pulse survey is coming up in July and you and the rest of the team won't forget sweating while on the sales floor and trying to help customers.
For the person who says I'm a crybaby the store I am in was in good shape before Jeffy and his id--ts took over. Facilities actually showed up and fixed the problems. But know I guess we are more worried about their precious marginal ized people charities . Cosmetics ,Fragrances, and Candy all are affected by heat. That is more lost money for the company.
Where short shorts, tank top, flip flops until AC is fixed.
Better yet a speedo or a thong bikini would be a safer choice
Cry 😢 baby welcome to retail.
