Thread regarding TransUnion layoffs

Permanently remote

Anyone else who was a COVID hire and is permanently remote? There's an office only a mile away but I'm not required to go in.
Does this mean I'm at risk since I'm a "remote" worker?

It's complicated because I was hired for a position in Chicago but I don't live in Chicago. So I'm permanently remote (even though there's an office in my city)

Does that put me at risk?

Until the board is done decimating TU and you have no position, just think of hybrid as a suggestion.

I doubt the OP should go to HR. Their manager needs to answer the question. If the manager doesn’t know then manager should go to HR. Sending the employee on this matter is not sensible.

Agree with the last post. Majority of my team haven’t been going in and nothings been done about it, the worst they can do is sack us which at this point would that even bother anyone

Our HR is a bunch of clowns 🤡. A good portion of us who are told we are hybrid have decided to just not go in. So far there has been no discipline.

Having to go to an office is inconvenient for most of us so we simply have not complied. If everyone did the same what would they do? Fire everyone? Call their bluff. They will fold. Long live the rebellion!

As a manager myself, that is not true. HR determines if you are remote or hybrid.

Your manager determines whether your position is hybrid. Send them an email, get it in writing.

Yet another example of the policy making zero sense. I am required to go in yet live 30 miles from the closest office.

Just find another job instead of worrying about this everyday!
