Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Cuts without brains will not make Dell a better company

I’m reluctant to leave on my own volition given the current tech jobs market, so I’m hoping to be kicked out in August. If then will be the next big round, that is. It’s lame, but I will let Dell decide for me. On the side note, cuts without brains will not make Dell a better company with a bright future. I might be jaded at this point, but I’ve never found the tech industry less exciting.

The companies developing and innovating in AI will be just fine. Dell is bloated with incompetence and the only AI play is to push out cheap commodity hardware at no profit. Dell will need to copy super micro to manage any level of reasonable profit. They will face a steady stock decline, reduced profit, and remain in a stagnant state. Folks still want PCs on the cheap so Del will survive. But in the age of innovation box pushers will struggle.

Dude the dell ship sank long time ago.
It's now a slow motion train wreck. Watching them nickel and dime to improve the bottom line is comical. There is no innovation. Just story telling and make believe.

Absolutely foolish. Be more productive but we are going to make major cuts. Brilliant.
