Thread regarding Pioneer Natural Resources Co. layoffs

Sharing my offer

Exxon offered me roughly 77% of my total PNR compensation as biweekly pay. Additionally, it’s mentioned that I qualify for RSUs if I achieve higher performance ratings, which would increase my pay. However, I have to be honest with myself; I am not a high performer, just average, so I won’t receive RSUs from Exxon. Accepting the offer would mean a significant pay cut for me.

@8ldp Exxon will hire pioneer employees then fire them for poor safety or performance.Exxon took over XTO and started laying off field personnel.Beware of Exxon and their offers.Get all offers in writing to be safe.

Welcome to XOM! We value you padding the bottom of my rank pool!

That's how you know it's a troll post, none of Pioneer's managers are self-aware enough to know that they aren't high-performers

Best thing to do is start a separate offer thread and set it up so that people aren’t easily identified but people can compare. There’s tons of lurkers here from all around the company.

I don't know about that, a good chunk of the people who left were some real d-mb-sses and grifters...

The smart people already left and Exxon knows it

It doesn’t even matter, there are only a few people left worth making offers to.
XOM missed on this one.

My offer was ~12% ABOVE my total rewards number that is in Workday. Different folks got different offers. It will be the same for individual contributors. For whatever reason, some parts of the org are valued more than others at this juncture. I wouldn’t go around comparing offer percentages across departments unless you want to be extremely disappointed. Severance will be paid out, eventually, but of course on their terms. Transition is a real thing.

My understanding is pioneer makes 20% more than Xom people. If true they will level down pioneer folks before they level up Xom folks. Plus remember , 75% or more of pioneers jobs will be considered redundant.

So many puppets just eager to sign whatever that when they do have the handful that go the attorney route they will not battle it. Not worth their time

Prepare for a protracted Exxon battle over severance. Ask the anadarko people battling Oxy to this day over severance.

If you’ve ever contacted an employment attorney in Texas, you would know that there is nothing they can do.
Severance will be a very frustrating and difficult path.

A change in compensation most certainly leads to good reason for a severance. Don't drink the kook aid that you have to accept what they low ball you with it or nothing. It is well worth lawyering up. The law is is the law do not be bullied into signing your life away before an expert reviews it. You need someone looking out for YOU and exxon and pxd ain't it.

A change in compensation doesn't automatically lead to severance. It’s not a straightforward situation. The term "material change" in compensation is seen by Exxon as immaterial. If you disagree, you could potentially spend the money to sue them, though that would be challenging. Good luck.

I don’t understand how XOM would offer those amounts since that is a reduction in pay and would trigger severance.

He/she means to say 77% of their combined pioneer base/bonus/ltip. I know because I received a similar offer. Mine’s closer to 85%.

I’m not sure if this guy is messing with us, or misspoke. It says that he will get 77% of his total comp in biweekly pay. So if you make $100k at PXD for the year now you are getting $77k every two weeks at XOM. Either you are trolling or misspoke.

Not so fast,

We go by PNR or PXD internally. If you don’t know that, you’re the outsider.

Who is PNR? You sound like an outsider or someone that used to work here. We are PXD. #fakenews

Why would you share these details here, unless you're a shill for PNR.

An offer that low triggers severance and is not worth anyone’s time for serious consideration.
