Thread regarding Insight Enterprises Inc. layoffs

They have been spreading out layoffs since last summer

They started layig off employees last summer. They gave no warning and did their layoffs in small groups instead of mass amounts to avoid having to pay out more to employees due to state acts that protect employees. Its legal but extremely shady. They talked so much about being family but did not hesitate to lay people off with the least amount of impact on their profits.

Ugh, I remember a couple years ago especially when every month we'd get the "ExCitiNg NeWs" emails and it was yet another shuffling of VPs/SVPs to other made-up positions. I think they stopped sending them out because people were starting to get irritated. I think it also sent a message that upward mobility for us was a pipe dream.

I'm no acquisitions expert but the more greedy we got with gobbling up all these companies with seemingly no plans to fully integrate them into our already very silo'd organization.... every announcement of a new acquisition was met with impending doom rather than excitement.

They have been doing this non-stop for 2 1/2 years, the "Solutions Integrator" cr-p is just that. They have been chasing margins in Services, however, the Services team is just now a bunch of Cap Gemini has beens that are not filling up their books with Cap customers. Layoffs have hit just about every department since they can't fire enough people quick enough to make the numbers. Op-ex = people and is the first thing to get cut. Let's see, strategy one was to drive services and just focus on the top companies (clients... LOL) and they can't expand or grow the revenue. So, since they have been trying to be less of a VAR, CDW is picking up customers right and left. Now when you stop your gravy train, of course the numbers are going to plummet. And put two and two together (this is for the geniuses in the finance dept LOL) it's called, swing and a miss, for many quarters. I still don't get why they keep shuffling VPs and SVPs around when they clearly don't have the chops or experience to grow the numbers. Fire them, pay out the severance and hire the people with skills. All the good talent from the Ken days are gone or have been pushed out. H, H and H company tag lines are meaningless and hallow when you have no soul.
