Forming a Union
Workers seeking to form a union at their workplace should talk to their co-workers to build support about issues they are facing. Often workers do this through forming an organizing committee. Workers can contact an established union for support and guidance or they may seek to organize their own independent union.

A group of workers seeking to organize a union should gather union authorization cards/petitions from their co-workers to show support for forming a union. Union authorization cards are documents that workers sign expressing their support for union representation.

Once organizers collect signed cards or petitions from their co-workers, there are generally two paths to follow to form a union:

Majority signup / Voluntary recognition

1-A majority of employees in the bargaining unit sign cards/petitions seeking union representation
2-Workers ask their employer to recognize the union voluntarily
3-If the employer agrees, the union becomes the workers’ legal representative for purposes of collective bargaining and the parties begin bargaining
4-If the employer refuses to recognize the union, workers can file a petition for an election with the NLRB
NLRB Election

1-Have at least 30% of coworkers sign union authorization cards/petitions
2-File a petition for a union election with the NLRB
3-If the union wins 50% +1 of the vote, your employer must bargain in good faith over working conditions

Set up a meeting with Sandra Sims Williams, she should be able to help you.

If you meant that sarcastically {I think you did}, my reaction is to shake your hand and say "Ooooh! Burn! Well played, friend!"

On the off-chance that you were serious, all I have to say is that SSW is all talk and no walk, and that people are better off seeking redressal of DEI-related grievances from a scabrous wallaby. At least the wallaby will listen to you before it kicks you in the nuts.

Don't forget baseball bats & helmets, if you really want to engage in America's favorite pastime.

Unions can’t stop layoffs. They’ll just be done based on seniority at that point, which is worse in my opinion.

Makes sense as Nielsen's nothing without it's panel. Be a hard and lengthy recovery if we all jumped in. Seeing a "bad batch of sensors" in my immediate future.

Overload the call centers with faults, flags and action requests that go unfulfilled - and band together so that the remaining chicken sh!t techs / travel techs who didn't get onboard are overwhelmed as well with field action requests.

You have more power than you realize, and no union is (initially) needed. Start taking action and go from there.

This is the very reason for all of the union-busting meetings as of late. Do this and give a big middle finger to it.

Stage a protest by scheduling visits to homes in the field and intentionally unplugging equipment and cutting power cords so they can't be re-engaged with a phone call from Mexico.

Do this across a couple of high profile markets and grab a bowl of popcorn to watch the backpedaling. Don't come back to the plate until terms are met and in writing, and reviewed by an attorney.

Start by banding together as a collective group and walking out on your jobs, and letting the data flow and client deliverables stop flowing, and homes in the field start faulting and demographics go without collection and updating.

Bring attention to yourselves and the the way the company is handling this mistreatment of employees and go from there.

With such a unique market that we all reside in these job functions are not easily replaceable, and bad press and negotiations would start to happen quickly.

If you do nothing you gain nothing, and are accepting of the company's actions.
