Gotta wonder why NASA would even risk lives launching an expendable test crew on Starliner now?

NASA has already contracted with SpaceX for all the remaining ISS launches until it will be retired. Atlas V was retired a couple years ago because it uses Russian engines. And the Vulcan replacement isn't and can't be human rated. And then there is the minor issue that the highly successful and reusable SpaceX Falcon 9 alternative is way more affordable for NASA. So there's no real future for Starliner other than being an overly expensive and highly unreliable backup option.

Wisdom would say to terminate this project. Launching a couple people must just be a Boeing face savings ploy to increase their stock price for executive severance packages.

I agree. Nothing is sacred anymore.

This is becoming comical at this point; it’s 5 years in the making with billions of dollars supporting it and nothing other than ongoing issues. Boeing can’t fix their plane issues much less their first launch that’s been nothing but endless delays. Both Boeing and NASA are corrupt organization that are crumbling; I don’t trust either “organizations”!
