Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

RTO

A few questions for the "Quit complaining and do your job" crowd.

What is wrong with being at home and close to our children so we can actually attend a son's soccer game, or a daughter's cheer practice, instead of sitting in traffic? Isn't that the work life balance Truist has been bragging about?

Emissions were way down during covid because there weren't cars on every road in Atlanta. Isn't that good for ALL of us?

Why is a brand new building being built at Truist Park? How much will that cost while our ESP discount is reduced, and our 401k match is dropped to 4%?

I will get my job done at home or in the office like I always have, but does anyone really believe that teammates will be more productive at the office?

Very demoralizing workplace environment.

Typical anonymous tough guy talk. Id love to see you make these comments in person to anyone. Anyone. You wouldn’t. Because you are, and will always be, a little punk.

And you reek of one of those non client facing teammates who says “not my job” when it’s in your job title.

Boy/ girl/ squirrel. Whatever you identify with

Cry me a river and get in your boat when you sail them to come back into office

I’ll answer as a branch teammate. I don’t mind the fight the WFH teammates give. But you do it in a way that’s disrespectful to other teammates. In branch we literally laugh and call you all crybabies. Literally getting on posts talking about how dangerous it is to have to drive to work now, oh boo hoo my driving time has to be figured into my day, crying tears over not being able to sit on your couch on a laptop when your IN PERSON teammates are taking it from every direction. We deal with higher ups and are the face to the client. We don’t hide behind TEAMS messages and emails.

So yeah, crucify me if you want to, but fight the battle for all or be willing to admit that all the things you complain about others have been shouldering to keep the company afloat. Those that are willing to be in person are the ones who should be paid more at the moment.

What about the fact that almost every single branch is short staffed, and there has been little to ZERO effort to fulfill these positions as people are quitting because of higher up management? Most branch leaders are amazing and kind and caring. Yet we have corporate hammering them, who then have to bring the hammer on us, causing many people to leave. If you're going to make me do the job of two or more people, pay me accordingly.
Care for your "little" employees; they truly are the face of the company.

In my LOB more than half are WFH, meaning the UWs and the special folks who negotiated w/leadership for special privileges. The rest of us are required to come into the office full time in Oct. It's favoritism at its finest. But because mortgage related jobs are scarce teammates are afraid to speak up. Now, I'f you are one of the unlucky teammates required to RTO 4 days, 8 hours, you best not say a word about the unfairness or you will get written up and fired.

Who is sitting at home doing nothing?
The reading comprehension of executive leadership is atrocious. Is everyone really that out of touch? We were told all during covid that work life balance was important, and that would be the direction Truist went with going forward.
Surely you read "I will continue to get my job done, from home or the office, like I always do".
Showing that you were gaslighting us during covid with empty promises doesnt increase morale. Remember how all the work got done with 100% remote work?
EL obviously doesnt care about retaining good employees.
Interesting that business owners and physicians tell me they are moving their accounts from truist because of so many issues, and teammate morale is at an all time low, yet EL is tone deaf.
Read the reviews from your customers on Facebook. Put out a survey and get feedback from your workers. Get with the real world. And go enjoy your kids activities before they are grown and gone.
Work life balance does matter, and you know it

@dad+1sz3p7Ge
Reading comprehension is key.
Who said anything about being paid to watch a soccer game? If you are working at home and get done at 5 you can get to a game. If you leave the office at 5 and have a 1.5 hour commute, you miss the game. What was all the talk about work life balance if it means nothing to executive leafership?

I completely agree with @yaz+1sz3p7Ge

Your focus on attending soccer games or being around your kids more has nothing to do with your JOB. “Emissions way down.” That’s laughable. Cars have the lowest emissions they ever have so it makes no difference. Just another pathetic excuse this time using the hoax climate cr-p.

I guess you will be the first in line the next time government tells you to stay in your home no matter if they lie to you or not. And here is a clue: the entire plandemic was a LIE. Francis Collins was the latest to have that revealed this week. Stop crying like a baby and get some facts.

Then get back to doing your JOB which is what you are being paid to do.

All these comments from people trying to argue that WFH doesn’t work or to just do as you’re told make me laugh. These comments are from people who truly don’t have a clue or Truist leadership trolling this board.

The way I look at it, leadership had a choice. If they wanted us to get work done, leave us remote, as we were clearly very productive.

Nope, they prioritized culture, collaboration, and spontaneous corridor conversations. Fine. Drag me into an office and you are telling me that my tangible work output is not as important as my physical presence in an office.

I will adhere to these priorities and be there as dictated. But it will come at the cost of productivity. Ready, willing, and able to collaborate, if only I could find someone on my team.

I guess the relentless search continues on...

Be paid to watch a soccer game? Or not sitting in traffic for no reason? I’m going to guess you are not this stupid, but more just miserable and like to spout off on the internet to feel better than others.Or maybe you are projecting because you slack off at home.

Personally I am significantly
more productive and engaged at home. And I’m also much happier because I have time to see my
family and do things I like. If my manage has a performance issue-they could mention it but all I get is praise.

But sure-I’ll go into the office and be less engaged and miss the soccer game.

Emissions? Soccer games? Let’s assume your job was created because it brought value to the management who created it. Emissions and soccer games aren’t exactly sound reasoning for why your work product isn’t available when needed, or why you’re not available for impromptu, god-forbid-ad-hoc-not-on-zoom-spontaneous conversation or urgent need in 3D. Maybe take a few courses in macroeconomics and the “highest and best use” of capital, including the human kind. And maybe take a look at your bank account every two weeks and see a few thousand reminders to the answer to your question. If you’re paid a salary like I am, you’re paid no matter how much or how effectively you work. Not quite fair from the bank’s perspective. And now many like you want to be paid for sitting at home and going to soccer games, justified by the myth that you’ll get your job done during the evening hours or on weekends. People depend on you and the execution of your job. The reason WFH doesn’t work is because W doesn’t get done F H as efficiently IN THE AGGREGATE as it does in a collective accountable environment. Open your own business and see what revenue comes in while sitting at soccer games and minimizing emissions.
