My curiosity got the best of me I must admit. Been gone just over a year and by the looks of it here, nothing has changed at GF. If anything it's worse. I can't speak for everyone who got laid off, but I know for a fact many are doing well including myself. I can only say, there is a much better work life outside of GF. Better work cultures, better pay, companies with a brighter future. Here it seems everyone is still picking each other apart, scared and complaining. Low raises, and perks being stripped. Thankful in retrospect of being let go. You people should consider looking elsewhere you might be surprised.

I was one 250+ who were laid off last time. I can't say I was happy there, but it still hurt to get let go. GF did me right with 3 months full pay + 6 month severance package $$. They also covered my health insurance for 5 months. As bad as they are, they did the right thing in compensating me.
Fast forward to now, I'm in a new industry and have experienced a completely different environment. The biggest difference has been in the mood of my coworkers. Everyone gets along there's no constant complaining and disgruntled behavior. GF was a toxic place sometimes and management was completely useless. I hope for all of my former coworkers, GF can change and turn it around or that you find a better employer.
There is zero vision at GF. 12nm and older nodes, the market cap SAM/TAM will continue to shrink. GF is run by a bunch on never was and never will be executives. The technology portfolio is weak, the PDK has essentially zero innovation in it and the culture is a toxic one to work in with the main focus on outsourcing jobs to low-cost geos. Now if working at a place like this interests you then stay there and accept the working conditions, if you want to be treated with respect and want an interesting career then get out of GF. If you are looking for a new job don't even consider GF, the leadership is a bunch of buffoons who were low/avg performers at other companies. Everyone has many choices, don't stay at GF and suffer the toxic environment. I left on my own terms in March of 2022 right after the AIP bonus and I have to say life has been much better working for a new company with higher salary and working in an organization where they actually care about their employees. The choice is yours, stay and be miserable at GF or find a new job and be treated like a human being again!!
See who are left in GF and you can predicts the future. All junks and failed individuals who just did politics and a-s kissing whole life. Now they are leading the ship.

Same here! Laid off in the last round. My new job is amazing. Global had the worst managers and the compensation and raises were garbage. Get out and change your life for the better. Or don't and be miserable.

Awhile back someone said that GFers who left for new jobs are like those videos of rescue animals who were kept in cement cages their whole lives and when they are finally free and see the sky or grass for the first go crazy with happiness and excitement. This analogy is so true. People don’t really get how bad GF really is until they start working some where else. It’s shocking. The new jobs amost feels fake or like a scam. But that’s how jaded this place has made the lot of us.
Whatever. Go cry about walking a flight of stairs for forks, because we know it is you.
