Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

I’d rather quit Dell than continue to work there

I quit my job. I told by boss I’d rather be unemployed than work for this horrid company and walked out.

It’s true. The way they treated us, the Modern Dell joke, the lack of leadership and the absolute drama happening all the time. Not sure if you’ll have a job when you wake up in the morning. The foolish RTO monitoring, the unfairness of rules between people, the little cliques, the lack of decision making, having a contracting company run the show, the absolutely ridiculous goals around spans and layers.

I filled out Tell Dell told them how horrid they are and then told my boss I quit.

It felt great. If you have an opportunity to leave, take it. If you get let go, you’re better for it. If you get to your limit and just quit, good for you.

It’s the worst company I’ve worked for.

After this, I’ll get with a great company and use Dell as my lowest bar going forward.

I’d rather be unemployed than continue to work at Dell.

Hey guys. I'm super laid back. I'm in a Tshirt for God's sake. If you ignore my bonuses and most of my salary I basically get paid the same as you. See these loafers? Former gophers.

I wish Michael Dell would open his eyes, remember his start and get rid of T-Shirt Jeff, there is no way that man should be directing the company, he is sinking the ship

My only regret in leaving after 25 years was not doing it sooner.

I wish I had the ability to do same. For now I am doing the bare minimum. Letting ChatGPT do as much of my work as possible and waiting for the WFR… I think I’ll be in position in a couple years. Meanwhile I am training up and looking at non-tech options.

You are hustling backwards. Should have stayed for the severance. At least have another gig lined up before you walk out. When you quit the know-nothing senior leadership likely get more bonus money.

I can’t blame you. But it’s also what they want - the misery is intentional so they don’t have to pay so many WFR packages.

Morale at Dell has never been lower. I’ve quite quit, looking for another job and hoping for a package. There some days I get close to walking.
