Does anyone know what the merchandising re-org looks for Merchants? Half my team was let go and not sure how we will take care of business efficiently.

That don't care the money keeps pouring in. Same thing when they went to DMs to TLs in stores. Stretch ya thin and get everything they can put of you. Short term profits will come in long term will be trouble. The destroyed the culture of Walmart. Who is going to run the stores 10 years from now. New coaches have no merchandising knowledge.
Hate to tell you, but all that work of the people they fired will fall,on those remaining. Their tools don’t work and they don’t care. Good luck.
Have you heard of AI. It's in the distance but can be seen. Would I put my money on AI, DEI or years broken in experienced associate? On AI, DEI, trashed asso in that order.
