Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

The wrong leaders are stepping aside

Peter Crawford, Bernie Clark and Joe Martinetto have been the heart and soul of Schwab's success for many years. They have tried to counterbalance the ruthless, machiavellian Walt, Rick and Jonathan, through the last few years. It's not surprising they they are finally giving up.

If you think leadership decisions and messaging have been erratic in the last few years, watch how messy it will get after these leaders step away. Brace yourselves for more draconian, "my way or the highway" management coming.

Same story to Mike Verdeschi,
https://www.investing.com/news/stock-market-news/citigroup-treasurer-retires-after-33year-career-amid-rising-interest-rates-93CH-3200138
Was Mike Verdeschi planning retiring??

@4oht+1sy2BkRn Good Q, bet on being kicked out.
Will you retire at age 56 with ~$5M?? Will you say "eager to explore new challenges and find new ways to contribute both personally and professionally, while also pursuing a bit more work-life balance." in your RETIREMENT ANNOUNCEMENT?? That was a resume not retirement. Telling people he is available and hey, hire me!
Whoever does not like him is looking for new hands. Why not selecting experienced one familiar with Schwab culture within SCHW but hiring from outside from citi pursuing better opportunity??

Churning of talent from bad to worse. Plot lines similar to 'D-mb and D-mber' and 'Margin Call.'

Peter,Bi11(trea$urer) and some of the ALM brains should also go - they collectively made the poor investments that caused the trajectory last year. Everybody forgets all the finance ids that help Peter make decisions

Ah yes. _______ solves everything.

Insert AWS, GCP, Salt, Git, Bamboo, ToS, Azure, Ansible…

And Tiny isn’t a dino. Yes, he’s sc-mmy and incompetent, but at 56 he only looks old.

Of course they did, it was just a sheer coincidence with the timing. Now if we can get the rest of the dinosaurs who run STS to leave, we will be good. How do we let people who have only worked at once place be our technology mavens? Special thanks to the tremendously horrible people who I interface with in Platform. I can not code, build or deploy anything. #AWS solves this.

Did they really decide to step aside at the same time?

Think of yourself.
They have golden parachute and you have STONE tied to neck.
In corporate never trust so called leaders.
Just ask one Question What so called leader aim was when they were Nice.

Joe’s becoming executive chairperson of the bank.

Mike Verdeschi was at Citi for 33 years, but only six s treasurer. At least we get another old white guy with limited experience and narrow breadth.

We are all giving up. It’s difficult working in subpar mediocrity when (after 20+ years) we saw greatness ,every, single, day. Innovation, engagement, trust of leadership gone, and trust of team colleagues.its a cesspool. all since Walt in charge. The lies from mgt to avoid giving promotion increases, and if you do get one, disgusting. A friend got a 6 % increase, after years of amazing leadership. They are older,60 , so the game is on to make them miserable enough to quit. Layoffs coming, please pick me .

Do you realize that Peter Crawford as CFO is probably the one that decided to invest so poorly and put the company on the downward trajectory? He should have been fired last year. So I say good riddance to Peter.

Agree to disagree. Praising lesser degrees of bad is a trap.
