Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Office Layouts

Did they renovate all offices to be the open concept neighborhood style workspace with no dedicated offices or desks?

After coming back from Covid I was forced back to a different building and the open concept is terrible. Right now there’s not many people coming in on a regular basis but if it gets busy in October when we go back to 4 days in office it’s going to be so so bad. It’s almost impossible to get anything done when there are a lot of people there. It’s so noisy and the focus rooms for when you need privacy are always full.

I was curious if it was like this in all the offices and what people think about their work environment.

None of these locations have desks. Most people just walk around the hallways all day or sit in the break room.

Before the plandemic was also before Truist. If you don’t like it, work on finding another job.

It is horrible coming in. You have not idea where you will sit, or if you will find a seat. People reserve desk and never show up. There is no reason to bring things in and get comfortable, translation-to build relationships.

Return to office isn't about making you comfortable and enjoying working at Truist. Return to office is designed to create voluntary separation to avoid payouts from RIF. Nothing will be done to upgrade your experience.

Just find a seat in the sweatshop, sit down, complete your work as well as someone elses & shut up. Words from our caring executive team.

Yes - our office is open concept with rows of standing desks lined up next to each other. There are lockers if you want to keep anything personal as the desks are not assigned to anyone. It’s very noisy when it’s more than 30-40% full. It was much better before Covid.

They don’t even give managers private space and I’ve heard many have to go for walks or outside to have private conversations. It’s pretty bad.
