"Badge swipes are an important corporate metric"

Seconds ago on the Purchasing Town Hall. Liz Dorr stated that only 50% of people are going into the office. That going in 3 days a week is an important corporate metric..... Are you freaking kidding me? All the quality, cost, launch, warranty, the list goes on problems... And people driving and wasting time sitting on Webex all day is what keeps leadership up at night. OMFG!

you should get 5 co-workers together and one of you take all 5 badges in and swipe them and you only have to go in once a week, You dont have to swipe out so no one will know who left or who came in the office. You rotate so no one has to come in all the time.

Honestly I have never come back into the office since 2020 timeframe but no one has ever said anything to me.
I just continue logging in and working from home.

@nsc+1svJgCvN. Yes, you are. Recess is over. Get back in the office and do some work for the first time in years. What did you whining babies do prior to 2020? The protests about going into the office make it obvious you haven't been doing much work. It is light out past 9 o'clock this time of year. You can get in your round of golf in the evening.

Did management consider employees taking vacation around Easter? So 50% during that time is reasonable.

This has nothing to do with synergies or collaboration or team work or face time or any of the other corporate euphemisms. This is because too many people (read LL6's) have key stroke sims installed on their laptops so they end up looking like they are online but are instead shopping, running errands or playing golf. You dont believe me? I had a boss who did exactly that and was not embarrassed when he admitted it after he retired.

@vod+1svJgCvN The only metric I've seen IT lead is the percentage of the team that fell for a spoof email.

Who cares about going into the office for meetings, do that at home. People should be: reviewing their vehicles in person, reviewing software updates in person, and attending new vehicle plant builds in person. These are examples of when it's needed to go into the office. Sometimes this may require going to a location for weeks and weeks until the job is completed. It's likely this is not happening enough, and often a group of engineers, managers picking a person to do all the running and report back findings.

In IT, our metric is 100%. We figured out how to get the data.

This is for realestate tax incentives sold as job creaters. Tax audits include a head count serving in the agreed region.

Liz Dorr has never been accused of being a good leader.

Another person crying about how stupid their leader is. Well, her followers are worse for continuing to follow. If you don’t believe in the Ford direction, leave.

Tesla has been tracking badge swipes for all employees since 2022. Ford is now trying to do the same.
