Hock thought he knew what he was buying but he really didn’t. He was f’d well before the acquisition.
A very big chunk of my career was built within VMware. It is really difficult to see what is happening and not to take it personally. Literally watching someone else buy over your ancestral home, promising to care for it, just to have you watch them burn it down
