Hearing that remote workers are going to be offered a relocation package to Bentonville or they’re cut.

Does this mean all the workers outsourced to india will be forced to relocate to US?
Cause i mean, collaboration and sh!t.....
I sort of knew this was bound to happen, but not this fast and not with a 1.5 months notice.
You can’t expect a $10m campus build in Bentonville to be empty. I’m guessing relocation or gone will be the norm for the next 18 months.
What local positions have been impacted
They are also laying off people local. Remote is impacted, however, local also getting cuts today.
Orgs across the company are handling this change differently. Some are remaining fully remote, while others now have to relocate to central hubs depending on team location. Offices remaining open include: Bay Area, Seattle, Hoboken, Bentonville
I’m on H&W, mostly remote but near Hoboken office. I was just told my role is moving to BV and there are no exceptions to work from Hoboken office.
Decision to relocate by 7/1
Relocation complete by 10/31
If not relocating, last day on 8/9
Should have more details on severance package 5/14.
Not trying to be rude but if the company built a billion dollar campus you better expect them to fill it but here’s my only issue, I know remote workers and some of them got the business update today and the relo option and some didn’t and are still allowed to work remote. I’d be filing a complaint so fast if that was me
Not only remote...
Just remote…details supposed to be emailed in 24 hours, relocation package is offered but unclear if there is a severance option.
Is this across all business areas? I'm in WFS and it's a remote-first team
Just remote workers?
Anything given as a relocation pay?
Can confirm…
Decision to relocate by 7/1

If not relocating, termination on 8/9.
Just had the 15 minute meeting with manager.
I’m sorry but if the root is to get people back to the office and as much as Walmart is concerned about image and consistency in hiring practices you can’t have one person get approved to be remote then force others to the office. That’s what got them in this mess to begin with. You can’t play favorites.
Some associates have gone through a formal process to get an approval through leadership to be remote. Ultimately those can be recalled too, but who knows when. Probably also depends on what they’re working on and if it’s a business priority. Guess we’ll find out! Part of it.
I would be curious into what the criteria is for an "exception".
Hard to believe letting folks with an exception stay remote while forcing some back. Would seem that would open up some legal issues around consistency
Hearing they’re closing Hoboken office and San Bruno or Sunnyvale possibly? Heard associates with an official remote exception might be ok…for now. There’s a big expensive home office slated to open 2025 soooo they want butts in Northwest Arkansas.
