One VP brags constantly about the outsourcing model. Officially known as overseas partners.
They say in leadership meetings that Ascension will NEVER go back to in-house IT. Even after spending thousands flying executives to India for curry and photo ops to fix issues.
They will learn nothing from the cyber crash and probably still get bonuses for the savings.
They won't ever go back internal IT. Because they will be out of business by then! That what you get when when you have m0r0ns running the company.
I worked for ascension IT several years ago, and the best decision I ever made was to leave. Nevertheless, I've made lasting relationships from my time there.
I understand there was a recent cyber attack. Ascension outsourced/offshored their tier 1 security team. The inept Tier 1 missed part of the ball .... SKILLED sec analysts would have caught this.
You absolutely get what u pay for, and this was the direct result of trying to save a few dollars.
Inside job? I dunno....just sayin'.

They can barely speak or read English. They don't pay attention. They put all their eggs in one baskets putting all virtual servers in same location. Since they are overseas...now they are useless cuz you gotta unplug everything to stop ransomware from spreading. You pay what you get.
There was a lot of money put into disaster recovery…. Where is it ???
