Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

So has anyone heard from a certain IT person today…………

Being that this Control Inventory Test today has been a complete 💩 show today would be very interested in what that certain person is saying about this. I imagine that tomorrow we will see a very earnest apology from that person.

Re:" Why are you all behaving like this?" I don't know anything about Neal or the tech side of Walgreens but anyone working for this company can see what a complete dumpster fire it is. It will take a Herculean effort, time, and lots of luck to turn things around, if that's even possible. It doesn't help that Walgreen's past and present actions have completely destroyed employee morale. Not sure if many of us are even invested enough to care about the future of Walgreens at this point.

This is not unsubstantiated criticism. Let me list the reasons:
1: 7 months and no IT strategy
2: Keeps talking to people outside the organization, but not to the talent that's already there.
3: VPs don't get along...hidden agendas between Data, Pharmacy, Infra. None of them seems to want to collaborate with each other.
4: Inappropriate actions and message in town hall
5: Keeps talking about culture, but no real quantifiable actions

On top of that, 7 month is not trivial. It's enough time to get something done.

Why are you all behaving like this? Neal is doing his best and he's great. He stepped into a mess that can't be fixed overnight. If you care about Walgreens, support him instead of criticizing. He's a fantastic CIO, smart and reputable. He's simply the best.

You mean Neal’s handpicked, ‘I sing inappropriate songs all over the internet’ bff CISO didn’t/couldn’t ride in on his stick pony and save the day???!!

Shocked, I tell you.
I am shocked… 🙄🙄🙄

You all think Neal cares? He has surrounded himself with a bunch of yes-person. His behavior and inappropriate touching (to the CHRO no less) in last week's Town Hall is of a man acting without consequences. Anybody else acting like he did would be reported to HR. You think this type of person cares about giving apologies?

I have been trying to get the customer service online chat to respond but every time I try to chat with a retail representative it say "connecting you with someone, hold on" and it just hangs there and NO ONE responds. Is the online customer help retail service not working?

RXI is not outdated in Walgreens time. But the fact that the systems completely stop working when all of the stores have to do a certain function has to do more with either they don’t have enough servers to use at the same time or they didn’t write the code to handle that kind of a workload.

No surprise. Walgreen's technology is terrible. Lack of investment while patching together our out-dated systems has contributed to this. We're running out of work-arounds.
