The most competent people inside XOM are former XTO, so they need these acquisitions in order to capture the talent who have tried avoiding bureaucracy and aren't power hungry or impressed by anything that Exxon does
In my experience it is XOM saying they are giving most everyone offers. Could be BS but they have told some groups ahead of time they aren't needed and they've already cut some people (HR for instance).
I think both sides are full of it. Pxd is telling everyone they are getting offers to try and ease their minds so they can work more safely but noone is buying into it. Exxon is scared to have some legit competition for jobs down the line because believe it or not there are a handful of decent hands at Pxd but most are overpaid and underperform. They have been spoiled for a long time and will not be able to adapt to actual work again.

Yes, recall the first townhall. TT said everyone will get taken care of. Look at messaging now. No possibility for any of us to trigger severance. Impossible on compensation now due to Exxon “interpretation”. Impossible on relocation bc now TT said just a notice of new location 50 miles away isn’t enough to trigger relo. Now they say complete your up to two year transition and Exxon will figure it out. Great job EC.
In case you ever wondered if our leadership gave two shakes about us- just look around. Who’s checking in? Who’s staying their 30 days? Certainly not TT, our joke of a head of Human Resources, who absolutely falls on the psychopathy scale somewhere. She asked to leave at close rather than stay a measly 30 days to at least pretend to be a leader to her teams. Selfish. What a joke. And very few of our EC members are much better.
highly doubt this. They do not have the recources to manage that much land, at least at the field level.
