Clinical services National Letter Team laid off about 20 people a few weeks ago. For the last 4 months they had us go under a weekly meeting called accelerated program that helps people who are interested apply elsewhere and get assistance doing so. And ofcourse globalization efforts. They reassured us that there was no layoffs and this was simply to help us advance in the company. Then all of the sudden 20 people were let go. I could only imagine it would be more into 50+ if they didnt have this accelerated program. I lost colleague that I have known for 15+ years hardworking people.

I'm sorry to hear you had to experience this. These so called 'accelerated programs' are nothing more than the manager trying to dump/move resources before she/he is forced to cut people. They are to spineless to tell you the truth. If you try to get a straight forward answer from them as to what is going on, they will lie to you, give you the run around.
