Thread regarding Juniper Networks Inc. layoffs

Why stock price going down

Can someone tell me why the stock price went down when HPE committed $40/share?
What is the probability that the deal won't go through?

Justice department and the FTC are reviewing the deal closely. Even 2 behind the curve firms are closely reviewed today for conflicts. It probably centers around the networking groups overlap.

Acquisition goes through or falls midway, the share price momentarily reached as high as it could probably get and the CEO and some of his Staffs being the humbugs they are, realised that it was as good as it might ever going to be and sold their stocks.

Well done you guys! When you talk about how Juniper is a player in the industry, I guess you were projecting your individual "player" selves. But hey, don't let things like "being a good person" or "integrity" stop you from filling your pockets and throwing your team and company under the bus.

Management has smartly dumped shares in Q1 knowing that the deal may not go through so make most while the euphoria lasts!

There needs to be a serious risk premium because if the deal falls through the bottom is along way down.

JNPR stock has done nothing FOR YEARS. The only time it jumps is with talks of buyouts, other than that it has been stagnant. It is evident now that the price is falling again. If it had any value don’t you think it would at least maintain the $40 per share potential closing price? Investors are FINALLY doing due diligence and uncover many skeletons!

So obvious if you know this sh%t show from the inside. The company from the outside seems strong and a leader. Internally a mess, no strategy and missed the market in so many ways. HP should walk away

Is Juniper still viable after a failed acquisition? Is HP paying $800M to ki-l off a competitor?

HP would pay 800M USD if they walk away from deal, some of the comments here dont make any sense. Share price is not 40 because deal has not been completed yet. simple as that

People are losing faith that the deal will go through.

HP has bought a few lemons in its day, and may be distancing or backing off of this deal.

The HP due diligence proves every day to uncover the simple fact that Juniper is truly a wreck.

HP has EVERY right to walk away from the deal.

And so people are dumping shares.

Strong buy my a$$!

According to most recent earnings, all verticals were down and this company is hemorrhaging money! They missed all their targets and it doesn’t look like future quarters will be better only worse. If this company makes it to the closing, it will be a miracle!

90% of shares are held by institutions like Vanguard, so that's the demand determining the price. In 6 months jnpr should be worth a guaranteed $40, for a ~10% to 15% return on any current purchases. Those institutions must think they can earn >10% with their $ in the same six months, but I find that assumption hard to agree with. Strong Buy IMO.
