I started Raytheon year 2020 with excitement and high hopes and was let go on Tuesday May 2, 2024 without any warning ..during the exit I was told my job was eliminated and it was nothing to do with performance.. I felt betrayed by the company and my management..this has been happening since the so called mergers.. and the hiring of the new upper management over “Supplier Quality Management “.. I have seen a huge drop in Raytheon’s employee morale since these layoffs began..every Thursday and Friday ..employees are looking over their shoulder for a pink slip….

Raytheon is not a company that cares about their employees.
If you every want to leave the company for any reason, make sure you take the severance with you. Make mistakes. Pi-s off your boss. Use all your sick time. Do anything you can to not get fired but get yourself on the layoff list!
Plan it carefully and you can be working for a new (better) company and take a bunch of Raytheon severance dollars in your wallet!
Many were burned badly in the Canadian operations, much of which was shut down and the long term employees dumped with little market for their services.
So you already retired from Raytheon then came out of retirement and got laid off? Retirement was too boring for you? You were expendable from the beginning.
"Let me guess…you are white and you are a male."
had 55 reactions while the others had approximately 20 consistently on 6/4
someone who hates white folks likes to fudge comments
if you aren't good at science or engineering find another job
Yes, I was hired and moved by Raytheon from Oklahoma to Tucson 16 months ago. Received special assignments over this time period while awaiting assignment. Received salary increase and bonus money during this period. Was told I completed assignments with high marks yet was RIF on 24 May. My wife and I sold our home in Oklahoma and totally relocated in good faith to Raytheon Tucson then got hit in the face with RIF. Something is wrong with this whole situation. Was told to keep applying to RTX as am eligible for rehire. I worked for Raytheon previously for 34 years continuous and came out of retirement to support Raytheon again and now have been dumped. Leaves a bitter taste towards Raytheon!
isn't the US spending a ton of money on defense right now
or are we just giving it away to other countries?
are we still bring in more people as well?
it looks like our government is actively fu--ing over its own middle class
(or what's left of it)
There are a lot of incompetent do-nothings in Rayturd's management who are constantly looking to squeeze out those who might expose them.
Let me guess…you are white and you are a male.
Raytheon harbors an unusually high percentage of complete frauds within the ranks of their management.
No future for the tech trade worker today; it's largely hand to mouth with very few surviving past the age of 50.
That's what I was told during the 2020 merger. Job eliminated and not back filled. Offered one year severance with medical so I just retired at the same time.
I wish the very best for those who got laid off May 2nd. I hope you get on with better employers. Then Raytheon Technical Issues.
Sorry to hear of what happened to you. Also, you would get more "good suggestion" responses if you were to post this on the Raytheon Reddit. There are lost of good hearted folks there willing to provide their wisdom.
I'm sorry to hear that! What was your position and location if you don't mind me asking?
Has anyone heard of any today? I hear more are coming.
I wouldn't take the loss personally. Years ago, I too felt betrayed after 7 years with RTN when I was outsourced. After 1 1/2 years later, the outsourcer also claimed my job was being "eliminated". Since then, I've had many jobs (some contract and some full time. The lesson I learned was there is life after RTN.
Good luck in your search!
Don't worry. There are still a lot of jobs out there. You'll find one soon. If Raytheon doesn't want you then it's their loss.
