To the comment below. Soooo why did they layoff production?? Isn't that the most important part of a manufacturing business?...
Tesla did the right thing to layoff excess employees and interns. I worked at Tesla and I have seen it myself. Tesla hired way too many employees and most of them have nothing to do. I have seen employees just hanging around each and wait for time to go home. Hundred of interns doing useless work and grouping together chit chat all day long. New and inexperienced engineers don't know what to do, making mistakes over and over again, and why do you need 3 or 4 engineers working on delivering one project where a single experienced engineer can handle it with no problem. Sorry, I thought Tesla workplace and engineers were great, not after I have been working there and see what's going on.
Elon did a great job with clean house and focus on efficiency, quality, safety, and profitability.
