Thread regarding Alphabet Inc. (Google) layoffs

Google lays off 200 'core' team employees, to shift jobs to India, Mexico

As a former employee of a former large IT company (which has made the exact same strategic mistake over the years) I am sincerely surprised. And I say this with enormous infinite sadness.

"At least 200 employees from Google's 'core' team have been fired, as the tech giant plans to shift some roles to India and Mexico. The layoffs were announced ahead of Google's first-quarter earnings report."

Might as well. Nothing innovative has been coming out of Google in a long time, and nothing innovative comes out of India. Beyond search, their most visible properties have been through acquisitions, and now they're out of things to acquire.

I've never heard of a company that announces layoffs while also saying the axed jobs will be moved off-shore. What the h*** are they thinking? Or are they thinking at all?

It's not a mistake, it's consistent with Google's full complicity, as a quasi gov't company, with the WEF agenda.
