They let go hardworking people by giving fake excuse of poor performance to avoid severance package

Ingram Micro made big bets on their business based on the Covid bo-m (along with others in the Channel) they now find themselves way over staffed for the transition to a platform model, private equity ownership and a looming IPO.

If more layoffs are coming. I hope that they minimal and that those impacted receive a soft landing with severance, etc. it is not their fault. The company should shoulder the blame for this RIF, namely poor planning and excessive risk taking and not simply get away with blaming it on poor employee performance or the broader economy. However, that is not how the game is played. The people that lose their jobs will skew older. The work load will be higher for those that remain. They will eliminate more positions using PIPs and “retirements” to get people to leave on their own to hit their numbers. HR is heavily involved in all of this. Every company has the right to adjust its workforce, let’s just do it the right way.
