Am I the only one who feels like this has become a burnout job both mentally and physically? I dread every new workday to the point that I feel physically sick. I'm honestly not sure how long I'll be able to continue doing this. I've been here for six years and it was never a great job, but it was never this bad either.

Burned out. Told my boss im done. Mental wellbeing is gone.
I notice that these lousy NH managers will pick one person on the team to harass to heck out of. When that person leaves, they gravitate to a new one. Its the control culture and complete brainwashing from the managers above who drive this in them and that the business is the only thing that is important. So important that you can beat people down for it. Don't forget, the fix was in for performance ratings, raises and bonuses. You can probably figure out who got part of your raise and bonus by how much work they do extra for that lousy manager. Remember when they are doing that, you were working hard per your job description and duties.
I’m completely and utterly burned out too. Optum Tech
To the poster who shared massive weigh loss in the last couple months- and everyone feeling the burnout, a story for you;
Two years ago, I had the best, most satisfying job in the whole world. The company culture was vibrant and thriving and we did excellent work, loved our jobs and lived in the fantasyland of all our healthcare delivery dreams…. And then Optum su-ked us in. We were optimistic- but lots of the older, mature, experienced leaders hopped right off the ship. Okay… it will be fine.,.
I got my 4th boss in 4 years, then my 5th, then my 6th, then my 7th. No orientation to the new merged company, no orientation to Optum, no direction or training or introductions… nada. Just “okay, here’s your Optum laptop, go do stuff”. They stuck us in a department that didn’t have a clue what we did, or how to leverage us… and we scrounged for scraps of information- anything to help figure out what we did here, and how (the merged company had all the po-p and none of the group).
I lost 40 lbs in 3 months, was hospitalized twice, wound up needing 2 major procedures and a surgery- couldn’t eat anything but toast and tea for MONTHS. The stress and isolation and absolute nonsense leadership was crazy.
After all that, we started to get a little foothold. We started to get information, and then… bo-m. Laid off. They intentionally made it su-k, made it stressful and awful to get us to quit. When that didn’t work, they tested us, we passed. When that didn’t work- they decided to pay us to leave.
Don’t be us. Just find something and get out, don’t waste one calorie of energy on a company that does not care about you in any way shape or form. I have hospital bills to prove it- it would have been cheaper to leave a year ago.
Run
this DEFINITELY has been a burnout job. I have so far lasted just as long too, and never felt worse. And they add insult to injury by making us sit in stupid meetings about stress management, emotional regulation, to brainwash you into thinking if you repress all you feel about what’s wrong with this company, you too can be successful and love your job and be in corporate healthcare heaven. have the right attitude! yaaaaa! ….i swear if i see another mood elevator at a meeting im going scream. in the meantime they are expecting you to do more work, and are cracking down on you to have a file/excuse for the next round of layoffs, and all they are doing is just projecting their own anxieties about how their own shortcomings are leading them to the same fate. Agree with comment below, go on fmla. it’s a real medical condition. And the only cure is to remove yourself from the virus that is this job.
Go on FMLA for stress. Sometimes you gotta do it. Take care of yourself first.
You can just quit, nobody forces you!
I lost 20lbs in the last 2-months. I’m not on anything or exercising I just work here and these ‘leaders’ are so unethical and self absorbed I lost my appetite for food.
I was mentally checked out before this with all the changes but the layoffs have made it much worse. Every week since then has been more and more bad news and more work from those laid off with zero extra pay. A part of me wishes I would be next to end the misery. Everyone I work with is pi---d off and miserable right now. I can’t find another job fast enough. I cannot image what this place will be like a year from now.
