This is an indication more layoffs are to follow. Sikorsky has production, but not a lot in the way of new products to design.

Based on what people are saying here, it looks like HR chose to layoff the higher salary engineers. They assign no value to experience or ability.

It's was a mixed bag honestly. The overwhelming majority were E3+ and many were seriously big names from a technical standpoint. One rumor circulating is that HR targeted "high performers" as they were a "flight risk" and were "likely to leave anyway."

No I put from front line management. This was 100% HR determined. Even more talent leaving voluntarily too. Very few experts left. Sikorsky is in big trouble. Actually glad to have been RIF'D now vs the inevitable one just before or after the upcoming holidays. At least I'm stepping into a summer job market.

What groups were most impacted?

Same here! Made no sense. I always felt that I was a high level performer. Moved to a new team where they greatly needed people. Some people do nothing on this team. Instead they let me go. Kept the people on who don't do anything.

None. My layoff made zero sense. Top performer, not retained while other inexperienced and under performing engineers were.

Seems like it was some strict numbers game with HR at the helm.
