Hearing that people were rated against jobs they didn’t do, performance criteria they knew nothing about, different grades rated against same performance criteria (e.g AVP v VP) for same job,, rated negatively for something when rated positively for same thing in end-of-year performance appraisal, managers with no knowledge of the employee decided on ratings, no right of appeal, no attempt at re-deployment- all to get people off the train on time…
Any insight?

You did the wrong thing in wrong place. You worked in Citi and paid the price. Citi is place to talk and talk in meetings till the opponent forgets about the task you are talking.
As I mentioned I do believe in moving on. But the point is not moving on here ,the point is seeing some id--ts sitting on your place, who you know got that spot after giving only sh-t.And the person who proved themselves better in last few years are being suffered.I don't have any expectation but should not be tolerating this nonsense quietly.
Ha Ha, Citi itself is a complete Joke. Better not to lament and move on. I don’t feel any regret in moving out.
As many mentioned in this forum, it’s going in downward spiral. The pressure might mount. Projects will be scrapped. A bunch of jokers sitting in meetings and boasting on their native languages. Promotions denied. Cronyism, Favoritism flags hosted everywhere. Projects moved to India. A junk a-+hole from India talked as if he knows entire Business. Backed by management. Quality su-ks. A S-itty Citi. They simply want to move operations offshore to reduce cost now.
You can’t rely an out of school guy without proper training or exposure. Citi does. Giving an entire project to India team without proper architecture, design or quality is equivalent to hanging yourselves.
Citi’s culture is broken now. Everyone in Industry knows about this. The early you move out, early you find job. I am happy that I don’t have to waste even extra 1 min in this company of no future. Better to leave when things look good. There is going to be more layoffs, same failures will happen. Same politics continued for years to come. Their life ends here. I am not affected even if let go. I am going out to explore the new world. Breathe fresh air. Try something in new space where I m recognized or will recognize someone
There should be something someone can do about it. I understand and believe in moving on but are we that helpless? Like earlier we didn't think of having a situation also to have a grief expressing platform like this but now we do. And it happened to so many people. Definitely something or the other should be found in some or the other case. I don't know what to do but something should be done. We all understand " layoffs " and that is normal in corporate. But what is being discussed here is not "layoff". If they're bad why company hired them?(if they're new). If they are old what citi was doing these many years?
This org change really hit reality that no matter how good your are, being at the same or better role comes down to who you know and the manager opinion as well as keeping you job. The direction given is from the top and managers are left to select their own. Let's face the facts. Loyalty is certainly a factor. Keeping up with the status quo. That's a factor.
I was in this case. My team was merged with other teams and other teams' management literally pushed me out. Of course, other teams' managements were higher in ranks.
Yes true in my case.Completely unfair. Obvious favoritism in my team. Still hard for me to digest but will move on. I want to believe that better and bigger opportunity is in store.
When they don’t really set any goals and then don’t measure anyone’s progress and instead rule by cronyism then this is what you get.
Yes. Many were wrongfully terminated, and denied any benefits at all. Were not involved with manager who made decision.
