Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

No Layoff for next 6-8 months

No Layoff for next 6-8 months. Citi needs stabilization and need to accumulate money for next Severance pay.

What I heard is more work pressure and micro-management to happen for deliverables.
They will pressure you so much that you leave on your own without Severance.

Exactly. Do the Bare Minimum until your time is up at Citi, whether Citi lays you off first Or you find a Better External Job first. Why should employees go the extra mile to work on or wrap up projects when after the projects are done, Citi will discard Employees like used Trash???!!! HR "Human" Resources LOL! What do you do with Resources?? You use them up and then Throw them Out!!!
Do Not go the extra mile, do Not rush, do Not multi-task. DO the Bare Minimum. For the next 2 years Employees will Not know until the end of 2026 IF Citi will keep them. This is assuming Citi is not sold or acquired by a Real Bank within the next 2 years.

Citi also needs to work through the wave of retirements coming. And of course, there is normal attrition.

The 400+ WARN notices are already notified in March and their last date is June.
The expectation is to complete the Consent order and to accumulate some money for next round of layoffs. Yes Layoff will be ongoing till 2026 as Jane mentioned. But in batches. The projects to be completed, closed and the resources will be released.
The other set of layoff's will happen based on project budgets/funding, non-adherence to policies like return-to-office, etc.
The expectation is more MD,D and SVP's to be laid off again. After re-org, most of these person's are isolated to be monitored and evaluate their performance. They will be major targets if their contributions are not up-to mark.
The Good news is you are surviving from layoff now and you got some time. Best option is utilize upcoming days for your search for better opportunities. Citi is not your final destination unless you want to retire your life.

Exactly. Layoffs will be ongoing for the next 18-24 months (minimum).

Management has no idea what they're doing, so how could layoffs be over?

Stop posting other people's comments as your own new threads. You just constantly clutter up the board. Too bad this site isn't handled more like Reddit with user names to track who's starting topics and where you could actually reply to specific comments/users... like a forum.

Not sure where you are getting your information. It's public knowledge that 400+ WARN notices have already been filed for NY/NJ for June.
