Despite blockbuster earnings from giants such as Alphabet and Microsoft, layoffs continue to ripple through the tech industry. Layoffs.fyi, a platform monitoring job cuts in the tech sector, recorded more 263,000 job losses in 2023 alone.

It depends on when you join within the 4 years rather than your actual performance. Performance doesn't influence RSU grants for 2025. Better off joining another FAANG.

Amazon 4 years of vesting. 10% after first year !!! Bad deal !!

Worked for two of them and they were both in the lower half of employers I have had in tech.

Meta offers a RSU grant that vests evenly over 4 years. Each year, a refresher worth approximately 25% of the value of the initial grant times the employee’s rating multiplier provided.

Google offers the same except their RSU grant vesting is frontloaded, with 70% of stock awarded in the first two years (38/32/18/12).

Amazon? You don't get rewarded for performance (beyond how you performed in your interviewers). You get 0 RSU grants. Like a layoff in disguise.
