the OKR cheer leaders are the sort of people who were arranging the deck chairs and tuning the band’s instruments while the titanic was sinking. It’s one big internal exercise in paper clip fiddling and delusion

More or less nothing in high tech is accomplished in 1 quarter. OKRs are not granular enough to capture measurable progress. My manager used to we-ponize OKRs which made it worse.

Annual OKRs with quarter check-ins (start, stop, continue) would make sense.

No, I think the whole "process" of "being graded on" quarterly is the problem

If you are spending more than 15 minutes on them then you are probably not doing anything useful -and will never be laid off. Good job taking 2 weeks to craft your OKRs.
